IoT / LoRa & Crypto
LoRaWAN as a communication solution in the IoT (Internet of Things) is ideal for cost-effective data transmission between sender and receiver. The best-known network is “The Things Network” (TTN) or the updated form “The Things Network on The Things Stack Community Edition” (TTS (CE)).
There are now descendants who are being placed through the placement of private and/or commercial gateways have their own worldwideLoRaWANBuild network. This is made possible by compensation for the provision of a gateway through Crypto Token. All relevant gateway data is permanently stored on blockchains. The crypto compensation is paid out on corresponding wallets and can then be exchanged and paid out on crypto exchanges.
Which IoT LoRaWAN projects are there?
One of the best-known projects is Helium from NOVA Labs. Hotspots (gateways) from various manufacturers such as SenseCap, Bobcat or Nebra send and receive signals based on Proof-of-Coverage (PoC). Depending on the service, the operator receives compensation in the form of IoT tokens. The blockchain basis is Solana.
Crankk is relatively young, but is based on the same LoRa basic data. Alpha/Beta licenses have been offered since the beginning of 2022 and the official launch is scheduled for the end of 2023 (public onboarding). Kadena forms the blockchain basis and CRKK tokens are distributed as a reward. In addition to Crankk Mining, dual/triple mining (Helium/etc.) is also possible via your own image.
MXC (MXC Foundation) is also working on an IoT network. The Gateway Miner reward depends on the online time and a type of tank filling. In addition to the “Sensor” rewards, there are also other coins that can be “mined”. Proof of Participation (PoP) is the consensus mechanism, the MXC token is an ERC-20 utility token.
